James Lindenschmidt, General Manager of RealTraps, here again for the August Newsletter. This one is a doozy, with lots of great information (and a few surprises) to share with you.
NEW VIDEO IS OUT!
The video I mentioned last month, Recording Strategies Using RealTraps, is now online! This video features Robb Kavjian from 1476 performing one of his songs at the RealTraps factory, and shows our strategy to record him. You can adapt this technique for your own personal recording space (or any unfamiliar space) using RealTraps panels and good engineering technique to get great results. The video can be seen on the RealTraps web site, and also in higher resolution on YouTube. We hope the information is interesting to anyone interested in recording, either as an engineer or audiophile. Check it out!
NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT
We are now taking orders for the QuietZone! This product is a larger entry in our recording booth product line, joining its little brothers the Portable Vocal Booth and the Carrel, and is equally useful for our recording and voiceover customers:
The RealTraps QuietZone ($599.99) is a portable recording booth that's large enough to create a quiet and acoustically dead recording environment for many recording applications. It's ideal for singers and voiceover artists, as well as brass players. The QuietZone is equally useful as a cell phone "privacy station" in restaurants, airports, and other noisy locations. It assembles easily with just a screwdriver, and at 6'7" high even very tall people can be accommodated.
The QuietZone features a much larger, free-standing setup with three times the absorbing surface area of the RealTraps Portable Vocal Booth, and double the surface area of the RealTraps Carrel. Available fabric colors are black, white, wheat, and gray, though the metal frame and legs come in black only. We're now taking orders now, so please contact us to get your order in.
In other big news, we will be giving away a Portable Vocal Booth (PVB) on October 1st to someone on our newsletter mailing list. If you are reading this, you are already registered. But please spread the word, especially if you know someone else who would like to sign up HERE for our monthly newsletter.
THE AUGUST SPECIAL
For this month's special, we're celebrating our new video above with a special Room Kit, which lets you get the same results in your room that you hear in the video. This kit includes the following traps:
The normal price for these traps is $2,899.80 plus shipping, but for the month of August you can order the entire kit for $2,500.00 plus shipping. This kit converts any corner of your room into a world-class tracking environment, with enough space to record a singer, acoustic guitarist, a drum kit, or any other acoustic instrument, or even a duo or a small trio. No substitutions are permitted on this offer, which is good until August 31, 2012.
See you next month!
