WORKING CLASS AUDIO WRAPS REALTRAPS

New Milford, CT - March 30, 2016 - The Working Class Audio Podcast wrapped the 3-part discussion with James Lindenschmidt, RealTraps General Manager, in Episode 67 released this week.

Part 1 in Episode 63 was the initial consultation where we spoke about the basics of Matt Boudreau's room, and concluded with some listening tests he would do. Then in Part 2 Episode 64 we discussed the results of the listening tests, and came up with a treatment strategy to maximize the results within the spaces Matt was able to treat.

In today's episode we discuss the results - both perceived and measured - from the treatment strategy implemented in the room. Matt had several observations:

"The bass buildup in the spots that we measured was not there. Everything just felt more smooth in the room for sure. It's better than it was before. It sounds great. Such detail. Really great imaging. I started to notice subtleties that you don't normally hear."

In addition to the sound quality improvements, Matt was "really impressed with how they are built. When you have less expensive product, that's fine, I get that, but the more you move it the more wear & tear goes into it. The fact that RealTraps have this metal frame on here really helps, it's like a little case for it, it really protects it, and I just see that I'm gonna have these for a LONG time."

The high quality fit and finish were also readily apparent to Matt and his family: "Even my 7-year-old came in and sat down, I said, did you notice I changed the room around? He kind of swung around in the chair and said 'It looks REALLY GOOD, Dad.' I'm really happy about that."

As an experienced engineer, Matt is already enjoying his increased productivity and higher confidence gained from giving his listening environment such careful attention: "It's been a really enlightening experience to dig in, because in our own spaces we can get lazy and complacent. I'm really happy with the results."

RealTraps is owned by Ethan Winer and Doug Ferrara. General Manager James Lindenschmidt handles the day-to-day operations outside of the factory. Ethan is known throughout the audio industry for his many technical articles in audio and computer magazines, and his book The Audio Expert. He's also engineered and produced several classical music CDs, including a recording of his own cello concerto. Doug is a professional musician and recording engineer who holds an advanced degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic, and is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. Previously he was a systems engineer for Motorola. James has been listening to, playing, and recording music since he was a child, for nearly 30 years. His degree is in philosophy.
