REALTRAPS CHANGES THE FACE OF SOUND AT BOOM BOX POST, WHILE HELPING WOMEN'S AUDIO MISSION GET TO THE AES SHOW

New Milford, CT - Aug 4, 2015 - Last year, RealTraps had the pleasure of assisting our friends at the Women's Audio Mission raise funds to get to the 137th Audio Engineering Society Convention by donating a RealTraps Starter Kit to give away in a raffle for their fundraiser.

The winner of the kit was Kate Finan, co-owner of Boom Box Post in Los Angeles. Kate recently blogged about her experience both supporting WAM as well as how her audio work has been transformed with RealTraps:

"I was stoked that my donation had helped them to reach their goal, and felt good about being a part of a cause so dear to my heart. But, I also received the added bonus of a stupendous surprise a few weeks later when I was notified that my name had been drawn to win a RealTraps acoustic treatment kit in the post-fundraising raffle.

"When I joined Boom Box Post in January, I was able to put that kit to good use. On the recommendation of Noelle Duncan, WAM's Development and Communications Associate, I called RealTraps and spoke to an incredibly helpful employee about how best to install them in my unique sound editorial room at BBP. I can honestly say that I have never spoken to someone who was so genuinely interested in helping me to use their product in the optimal way. I also visited their website and made good use of the extensive installation advice and diagrams before deciding on an arrangement and hanging them.

"Now, my editorial suite not only sounds better, but it looks amazing as well. So, I would like to say a huge thank you to both WAM and RealTraps!"

Since then, Boom Box Post has expanded, adding a new edit suite, and Kate placed an order for more traps to make the new room up to their high standards. And they won't stop there: Kate noted there are more future expansion plans afoot, assuring us that "we'll certainly be buying more as we continue to outfit more sound editorial rooms."

Congrats to Boom Box Post's success, and we're happy to add their two rooms to the RealTraps family.

RealTraps is owned by Ethan Winer and Doug Ferrara. General Manager James Lindenschmidt handles the day-to-day operations outside of the factory. Ethan is known throughout the audio industry for his many technical articles in audio and computer magazines, and his book The Audio Expert. He's also engineered and produced several classical music CDs, including a recording of his own cello concerto. Doug is a professional musician and recording engineer who holds an advanced degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic, and is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. Previously he was a systems engineer for Motorola. James has been listening to, playing, and recording music since he was a child, for nearly 30 years. His degree is in philosophy.
